No kinkyness here unfortunately...

So, i bought a box of latex gloves that were cheap and all the fingers were stuck together and i couldnt get my hands in so returned them :banghead:

then bought a different box which are good in the sense that i can get my hands in them but they tear quite easily and make ur hands sweat like a fat lass. :banghead:

so, anyone found a solution to avoid greasy/dirty hands that allow decent dexterity? (welding gloves dont quite cut it...) dont mind paying a few quid if they work well

cheers

For working with oils, brake cleaner, etc. I use nitrile gloves. They're harder wearing than latex and are oil-resistant.

For heavier-duty things like wheel changing I get boxes of 'Contour Avenger' gloves from my local Costco. Last ages and when they get dirty you can put them through the wash.

I use those contour avengers for everything. Like keith said you just wash them occasionally. I just do a hot water and fairy liquid wash. Having to wear them all the time at work (for no reason) does have one benefit, I get them free

thats all well and good giving it the big one, but then when ur hands are covered in grease and ur session is starting in 30 secs, what do u do? cover ur £150 gloves in grease? miss a minute of the session (which equates to the cost of the gloves) whilst u franticly remember when u put the swarfega wipes?

I use similar to those contour jobbies and they are great and washable, they also protect my nails quite well :ahappy:

I am all for blokes having macho rough hands and can live with dirty hands and fingernails when working, but no excuse for it once done.

No bloke is gonna paw me with dirty fingernails.. no sirreeee

Alas they don't say that when you're putting your fingers in their kids' mouths or injecting / operating on them :rtfmsmilie:
I'm sat at work now looking at my hands and there's black marks in the small cracks in the fingers that won't come out with Swarfega. Don't look very professional really. And that was with wearing the equivalent of "Contour Avengers" off and on all day yestreday at Cadwell.

End up wearing latex gloves for everything if I go near a punter just for appearances! (Having scrubbed hands with antiseptic and piled on alcohl gel already  )

By the way, is it me or do "Contour Avengers" sound like a brand of novelty condoms?

That's fine, but when your hands start looking like something out of the singing detective (like mine used to) then it's time to do something. :ermm:

Don't tell me a jock uses moisturiser and "Gentlemens products" :pablolaugh:

Seriously though, I use stolen nitrile gloves from work.

Also make great waterproofing inside your race gloves.
